A Guide to Double Insulated Glasses
For many years keeping the
temperature of your cold or hot drink longer was a problem people face especially when they were outdoors. It
was also very uncomfortable to walk in the forest or on the sandy beaches with a glass in your hands without
spilling its contents all over the place. Double insulation glasses came to solve these problems forever.
They will keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for a long time. The same glass can also be used
for either purpose.
They are available in three
different materials for you to chose from. The first is polycarbonate plastic, the second is borosilicate
glass and the third is surgical grade stainless steel. They are all manufactured with the same principal,
double walls. The first two have sealed air in between walls the third one uses foam in between layers for
insulation but they all have the same general properties.
You can also find models in all
three categories that come with their sealable cover or lid with a sipper included for comfort and practical
use. They can be used in the car the gym or anywhere you want giving you the option of drinking straight from
the outside thus keeping your drink cold or hot for longer periods of time.
The polycarbonate and stainless
steel models are virtually unbreakable. They will take the punishment without even losing their lid or the
liquid inside. The other material, borosilicate glass is normal glass. It will take a short fall and resist
but it behaves like normal glass with a little more resistance.
All three types can be
bought in different colors and styles, sizes and shapes. Stainless steel glasses are for use outdoors and not
on your dinner table; they look much like a thermos so they would not really fit in your kitchen. The other
two options are perfect for home use or any other you want to give them. You can buy colored or transparent
glasses for home use and they will fit right in with the china you use every
day.
When we compare prices between
the three of them, even though the stainless steel type is in another category we find them close together
but not quite. The cheapest are the polycarbonate plastic glasses followed by the borosilicate glasses with
the stainless steel type being the most expensive. The price on the first two may be inverted if you decide
to personalize your glasses.
We have made an attempt to
provide you with the pros and cons of all three types of double insulated glasses available in the market
